* Reyes Uribe of Ayutla, Jalisco Mexico*

Updated October 25, 2005

I have collected this is information from sources within the family in the United States and in Mexico. As far as we know the Uribe surname is Basque in origin coming from the region of Biscay in Northern Spain.
The descendants of Reyes Uribe are from the village of San Antonio de Los Moran located in the western mountains of the state of Jalisco in Mexico. San Antonio belongs to the delegation of Santa Rosalia which in turn is a constituent of the municipality of Ayutla, Jalisco. Older records were destroyed during the civil war of 1910-1920 and subsequently the religious conflict of 1925-1930. Some civil records still exist in Ayutla.
Any information to update my research is greatly appreciated and I am willing to share information that I currently possess.
