| Am doing research on my Urquhart ancestors and their descendants. My Great-grandfather was William S. Urquhart who was born in London, England circa 1806. He came to U.S. by way of Canada. He settled in Rockton, Winnebago County, Illinois, circa 1836 to 1838. He had seven children: William H. Urquhart was born in Canada circa 1833 and died in the Civil War at Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Dec. 30, 1862. Elizabeth Urquhart was born in Canada circa 1836. She married Josiah W. Leffingwell October 21, 1858. James Edward Urquhart was born in Rockton, Illinois Oct. 25, 1838. He lived in Illinois, Kansas, Montana and California. He married Lois Josephine Haines in 1878. Charity L. Urquhart was born in Rockton, Illinois September 07, 1843. She married Chester Boardman July 25, 1866. Charles Urquhart was born in Rockton, Illinois December 1846. He left Illinois in the 1870's. He lived in Kansas, Montana and California. He died in Chico, Butte County, California in 1933. Mary Urquhart was born in Rockton, Illinois circa 1853. She married Benjamin Franklin Lee December 16, 1874. Ida Urquhart was born in Rockton, Illinois circa 1856. She was living in Harrison, Winnebago County, Illinois in 1870.
