My earliest USRY ancestor was William Henry Usry born about 1780 in VA or NC and died about 1809 in Union, Burke CO, NC. He married Jane Glass about 1801 in Burke CO, NC and they had two sons in Franklin CO, TN, William, born about 1803, and James Adolphus Usry, Sr, born about 1805. James Adolphus was my great grandfather. After William Henry died Jane Glass married a Joseph Alexander on Dec 13, 1809 in Burke CO, NC. Jane's two sons were bonded out into separate homes. William went with a family to Missouri and never spoke James again, except on one occasion by letter. My research has mostly centered around James Adolphus, his two wives and their eighteen children.
Other families related to the Usry's are: Bryant, Dillard, Reid, Jones, Langley, and Edwards. My maternal family research includes the Baileys, Latimers, & Garrards of Wilkes CO, GA and the Evans family of Thomas CO, GA.
Information on any of these families will be appreciated, and I am, also, willing to share the additional information that I have.
