The Chappell Family Page

This page is dedicated to the two Harold Chappells-my father and my grandfather, for keeping my Indian great grandmother alive through stories and for giving me just enough information to get me interested in finding out who we are and where we came from.


I am researching the names of Chappell, Watts, Shore, Kestler, Abrahamson/Abrahams, and Hessberger. The Chappell, Watts, and Shore names are from Alabama, Arkansas, and Oklahoma. The Hessbergers Kestlers, and Abrahamsons are from NY, NJ, and Pa.

I have hit a wall in finding out information on my grandfather, Joseph Kestler. He was born in December of 1905 and died in September of 1952 in NY. He and his younger brothers George and Peter were orphaned at a young age and were raised in an orphan's home in Middletown ,NY. They had an uncle William, and their parents were George Kestler and Josephine Mary Farrell. This is all I know about my grandfather and I would love to hear from anyone who can help me fill in the pieces.
