The Rhoads/Meads Families of MissouriUpdated August 8, 2008 | |
| This information was last updated as a result of a first-cousin reunion in Chillicothe, MO on June 16-17, 2001. Members of the Luther Rhoads/Ida Meads family met to exchange pictures and to meet one another. As a result, pictures have been added to the Rhoads and Meads books, along with many entertaining stories in the Rhoads line. Please feel free to contact me if you have additional information regarding these families as active reunions occur on both sides in MO and IA each year. Our family lived primarily in Missouri but have now moved to the East Coast, South, Midwest and West. The genealogy starts in 1638 and has been updated through our latest records to 2001. The Rhoads (originally Rhodes) family genealogy was started for our family by Fredrick W.(Rick) Rhoads, Najla Kutait and Forrest L. Rhoads. Najla contributed the Etta Rhoads Osborn family history; Rick followed the information from an aunt, Eura Ilah McCutcheon, to Joseph Rhoads/Elizabeth Shepherd. This connected Joseph to Reuben and from there the VA records were very good, back to Hezekiah Rhodes in Middlesex County in 1684. In fact this era of the family history had been researched by Mildred Marshall of Charlottesville,VA, whose mother was a Rhodes and a descendentof Reuben's brother, Thomas. |
