The Van Veens are originally from Holland and arrived by boat in Halifax, N.S. on March 10,1954. They came to settle in Burlington, Ontario shortly thereafter. The family is still settled in and around the same area. The Kirchen family originates from England and Scotland, Barrie and Orillia, Ontario and came to settle in the Hamilton and surrounding area. Not many are alive anymore but I have traced the tree back several generations. The Van Veens were builders, architects, teachers and dental workers. The Barrie clan were farmers, teachers, nurses, and labourers. |
