The Van Riper Family of Wayne, NJ

I have been researching the Van Riper, Dipley, Penn, Riker and West families of NJ for the past ten years. Much of the family history shows the families living in Caldwell, Bloomfield, Newark, Orange, Wayne, Verona areas. Have also been researching the Bowman, McGlaughlin and Northrop families from the Athens and Vinton county areas of Ohio. These are the primary locales for the familes,although members of the families have relocated to New York, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas and California. Much of our family records have been lost over the years, including the Van Riper family bible, lost in a fire about 50 yrs ago.

Most information on my father and grandparents is from public records and from stories and information provided by my father (deceased).
