| I am currently researching the following branches of the VandenAssem-Cosgrove family : *COSGROVE : James Cosgrove immigrated to the U.S. from England circa 1878 and settled in Paterson, NJ ; his son Matthew married Mabel McCrea (daughter of John McCrea and Isabella Walker) in 1897. *MCCREA : James H. McCrea married Ann Elizabeth Bounds in June 1854 in Paterson, NJ; Ann was born in Paterson, James was born in Southfield,Orange Co., NY. *BOUNDS : Joshua Bounds, born circa 1802 in Bergen Co.(?), NJ; grandfather of John W. McCrea. He lived most of his life in Paterson, NJ. *VANDENASSEM : Christiaan VandenAssem was killed while serving aboard the Panamanian merchant vessel 'SS Pillory' , which was sunk by an enemy torpedo on June 5, 1944. I am interested in finding any information about the vessel or the particulars concerning its destruction. *Any information or research tips would be appreciated; I am willing to share information that I have. |
