The Claude Dale VanNatta Family

At present our family research starts with David Vannatta, my great grandfather. Sometime later, the spelling was changed to Van Natta, probably in the early 1900s. He was married to someone named _____Higgins, who gave birth to my grandfather, Dorwin, in St. Paul, Canada, in Sept. 1862. Dorwin immigrated to United States in 1881. His wife's name was Jennie Root (Racine).

I would like to trace the family line backwards From David if possible.
