I am researching the Van Slyke family, origin New York. I have quite a bit of information on Daniel F. Van Slyke, born 1799 died 1831. he was an engineer on several canal building projects including the Chesapeake & Ohio, th eErie and the Savannah - Ogeechee canals. He was married to Laura Mears and they had a son N.B.Van Slyke and others. N.B. lived in Madison, Wisconsin. If you have further information, please contact me.
