| I am looking for information on these surnamesVan Dyke -- specifically Jacob Van Dyke born 1835 in the Netherlands. His wife was Anje Oostema, born May 8, 1837 in Vliesdorp Netherlands (unsure of the spelling could be Vliedorp). They had eight children, I am a decendant of Martinus born March 4, 1872. The family settled in Grand Haven, Michigan. I am attempting to find out when Jacob came to the states and where he originally lived in the Netherlands. Also of interest is which of his sons served in the Civil War for the Union and what company he served with.Other family names of interest: Vander Til / Buffinga from Sebaldeburen, Groningen, Neth.Benedict, Boonstra, Vander Meulen.I would greatly appreciate any leads and would be more than willing to share the information I have gleaned thus far. |
