* A Van Nortwick Home Page*

Updated July 26, 2001

This genealogical study is concerned with the descendants of Symon(Simeon) Van Noortwyck (Van Nortwick). Simeon, his brother Rochus(Rokus) and his sisters Maria and Cornelia came from Holland to America in 1695. They came with their mother Cornelia van Wesel, their step father the Rev. Guilelmus Lupardus and a half sister Joanna Lupardus. The Rev Lupardus came to America to take up his duties as a minister at (Midwout). He remained until his death on February 10, 1702, a minister at the Dutch Reformed church in Kings Co, serving Flatbust, New Utrecht, Brooklyn, Flatlands and occasionally supplying Buskirk and Gravesend.
Simeon's father the Rev Adrianus van Noortwyck(1656-1692) had died in Holland. This genealogical study concerns the descendants of Siemon as Rochus returned to Holland. Simeon moved to Somerset Co., NJ. He married Folkertje Folkerse and they had 9 children; 8 boys: Adriaan, Folkert, John, William, Philip, Simeon, Christiaen, Martin and a girl: Cornelia.

I beleive at this point, that all Van Nortwicks in America can trace their ancestry back to Simeon.

Any information would be appreciated. I am also willing to share the information that I have.
