Van Emburgh Family of Bergen County, New Jersey

I am researching my family, the descendants of Gysbert Van Emburgh(Van Imbroch), the first member of my family to arrive in America. He lived approx. 1634-1665 and was one of the original Dutch settlers in New York. He married Rachel de la Montagne, daughter of the famous Johannes de la Montagne. Their son, Johannes married Catherine Sandford, daughter of William, and settled in Bergen County in the area where my family lives to this day.

In addition, I am researching my mother's family, surname Roberts, Nutt, and Young, from the New York area.

I would be happy to share any info on the Van Emburgh family and their numerous offshoots, including links to the Ackerman, Demarest, Zabriskie, Hopper, and Terhune families of the area.
