Glenn D. Mathis

MORTON--Services for Glenn D. Mathis, 70, who died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2004, at St. Dominic/Jackson Memorial Hospital, were held Saturday, Dec. 18, 2004, at Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Morton with burial in Morton Memorial Gardens. The Revs. Charles Moody and Frank Lay officiated.

Mr. Mathis was a native of Parsons, Kan., and was a long time resident of Morton. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Morton. Mr. Mathis owned and operated Glenn's Welding and Millwright Service in Morton for many years and also owned C & G Trucking and J & G Repair in Morton.

He was preceded in death by his former wife, Clyda Jean Tedstrom Mathis; one daughter, Glenda Meier Willams; his father, A.D. Mathis; his mother, Arlie Bernice Hall Mathis and his brother, Franklin Mathis.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Gray Mathis of Morton; his daughters, Dorothy Vance and her husband, Joe, both of Morton, Frankie Moore and her husband, Joey, both of Morton and Nancy Olson Greenwalt of Parsons, Kan.; one son, Alan Meier and his wife, Barbara, both of Parsons, Kan.; his stepchildren, Carol Hernandez of Hutchenson, Kan., Sharol Schoenhofer of Erie, Kan., Sheila Smith, Patty Sharp, Bobbie Schulze and Willie Schulze, all of Parsons, Kan.; sisters, Ruth Harris of Topeka, Kan., Shirley Cismowski of Menton, Calif., Arlene Cray of Sacramento, Calif., Judy Osborne of LeCompton, Kan. and Eleanor (Sis) Moots of Hertland, Mo.; brothers, Don Mathis of Spanaway, Wash., Orville Mathis of Parsons, Kan. and Walter Mathis of Bremen, Ga.; 36 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Charles Steadman, Bill Steadman, Roger Dale Tadlock, Buddy Vines, Johnny Cooper, Lyndal Easterling, Richard Grant and Lamar Burkes.

Mrs. Clyda Mathis
Funeral serices for Clyda Jean Mathis, 61, were held at 11a.m., Thursday, July 14, 1994, from the Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton.

Rev. Larry Camp officiated. Interment was made in the Morton Memorial Gardens, Morton.
Mrs. Mathis passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 1994, at Scott Regional Hospital, following an extended illness. Mrs. Mathis was a native of Parsons, KS. She grew up on a farm near Mound Valley, KS and graduated from Mound Valley High School. Mrs. Mathis assisted in her husband's business as bookkeeper prior to her illness.

Survivors include her husband, Glenn D. Mathis of Morton; mother, Mrs. Evalena M. Newell of Parsons, KS; two daughters, Mrs. Joe (Dorothy) Vance and Mrs. Ernie (Frankie) Ezell, both of Morton; one sister, Mrs. Faye Knight of Bartlesville, OK; one brother, Karl Tedstrom of Greenville, SC; three granddaughters, Keri Harrison, Jennie Vance, and Kayla Ezell, all of Morton; three step-grandchildren, Ernie Ezell, Jr., Jeremy Ezell, and Candy Ezell, all of Morton. She was preceded in death by her father, Clyde Tedstrom and a brother, Charles Tedstrom.

Pallbearers were Charles Steadman, Roger Dale Tadlock, Bill Steadman, Ralph Hall, Lamar Burkes, and Lyndall Easterling.

Honorary pallbarers were Stites Easterling, A. M. (Buddy) Lovett, and L. G. Sessums, Jr.
