Notes for Aaron Dewey Mathis: OBIT Aaron Dewey Mathis, 60, was found dead in his room at the Curtis Rooms about 9:20 a.m. today. Death, which is believed to have occurred sometime Wednesday, was from natural causes.
Mathis was born Feb 10, 1899 at Monmouth. He traveled from place to place and was married to Arlie B. Hall in South Dakota on Nov. 2, 1926. They came to Parsons from California 18 years ago. He was a laborer.
Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Arlie Mathis, of the home at 2527 Wilson; five daughters, Mrs. Arlie Ruth Snead, rural Parsons; Mrs. Shirley Lee Rhoades, Vallejo, Calif.; Mrs. Arlene Mae Cray, Topeka; Mrs. Judith Marie Butts, Tulsa, and Eleanor Berniece Mathis, of the home; five sons, Donald Gene, in the Air Force in Germany; Glenn Dean and Walter Ralph, boh of Rome, Ga.; and Orville Ray and Franklin Dewey, bother of Parsons; three sisters, Mrs. Ruth lamb, Parsons; Mrs. Myrtle Cooper, Lawrence, and Mrs. Mary Hucke, California; three brothers, Oren and Archie, both of Kansas City, and Arthur, living in California. Eleven grandchildren also survive.
Graveside rites will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Oakwood, conducted by the Rev. A. E. Davidson.
