Vance Journey from NC, SC, AL, LA,Miss, TX to Australia

We think Elihu Vance was born 1802 in Laurens Co, South Carolina. We cannot prove it for sure. We know he died 1858 in Liberty, Liberty Co,Texas. He married Jane Harrington, (28 Feb 1814--18 Jan 1869) on 14 Oct 1829 in Perry, Alabama. Ch'n were James, Mary, Elizabeth, Samuel,Charles Henry and Joseph. Jane Harrington travelled to Millican in Texas after the death of her husband, Elihu, sometimes spelt Elihue.

Joseph, (1849-1919) born Vivian, Caddo, LA, died Millican, Brazos Co, TX, married 6 Jan 1875 Caroline Elizabeth Noling b.1850 d.1925)in Ruston,Lincoln Co,LA. Children were Charles Henry, Mary Elizabeth, Cornelia Jane, Joseph Theodore, Frances Juliet and Samuel Coleman.

My Grand-father,Charles Henry b.25 Nov 1877 in Alpha, LA, d. 9 Oct 1915 in Navasota, Grimes Co, TX. We know that he was a veteran of theSpanish-American War. He had married Margarite Corine Moore,(b. 1884-d. 1969) on 8 Jan 1902 in Millican, Brazos, TX. Ch'n were my father,Charles Elmer,and his 3 sisters,Theresa, Aubry and Comelles.

Charles Elmer b.8 April 1903 in Waco, MCLennan Co, TX, d. 12 Sept 1960, married Anne Gladys McLennan, (b. 16 May 1904, Sydney NSW) in 1926 Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.
Ch'n were Gene Allan Robert,(1927-1932)and the submitter, Elmer Leon James, b.24 Oct 1928.

Elmer Leon James, (called Leon) married 31 Aug 1956 Barbara Joan Hill,(b. 1 Aug 1927)of Sydney, NSW Australia,at Randwick, NSW. Ch'n were Alison Leonie Anne, b, 13 Oct 1961 and Michael Francis Donald, b. 8 April 1964.

Michael Fracis Donald married 21 Oct 1989 Janette Weatherup in Mulgoa NSW. Child was Samuel Joe, b. 23 Dec 1990.
