The Winton's and Millers immigrated to Northern New Brunswick, Canada in the early 1800's from Scotland and England. Due to a recent contact with the Hansons I have found that the Hansons originally came to Maine and New Hampshire from England in the early 1600's and that they were Quakers. They came to New Brunswick as United Empire Loyalists. My fathers name was Allen Stanley Hanson. He married my mother June 7th. 1930. I was an only child. They separated when I was very young and were divorced in the early 1940's. The Van Hoorns are from Sassenheim, The Netherlands. My husband Adrian and his brother John are first generation immigrants. I have accumulated more than 2000 names in various branches of the family and am also trying to include information about work, hobbies, interests etc. We- the Jackson Miller branch- had a great get together to celebrate Helen Millers 90th. birthday in August 2001 in Edmonton AB, Canada. We ended up with almost 90 people in attendance and Helen was just great. She loved the party and was so pleased to see everyone who she had no trouble recognizing. She informed us that she had another big birthday in 10 years. She just thought this "Shindig" was great.
2008 Update: We had another reunion in Dalhousie when Lona (Quigley) and Lionel Arsenault celebrated their 5oth. Wedding Anniversary in August. It was a wonderful celebration -combined with a Quigley Reunion, in spite of rain every day.
I would be pleased to share any information and to receive any information.
