THE STUMPS - DESCENT OF THE FOUR MICHAELS

Eula Pickering obtained a carbon copy of a Stump Family History written by Paul Hardman around 1940. She gave this 77 page document to my mother, Elizabeth Mollohan,and finally to my brother, Paul. Over the years the paper deteriorated and became very fragile. This is an effort to perserve the information compiled by Paul Hardman At the same time another book was found on the Internet compiled by Don Norman. This document is a combination of material from both books.

The family originated in Erbach, Germany in the early 1600s. The Stumps were among the earliest settlers to come to America. Michael I was a friend and companion of George Washington. The family has a rich history that should not be lost. I hope you enjoy the stories contained in this book.
