A few years ago, I started some of this genealogy work. I have my great-grandfather Vance to thank for a cryptic comment passed down that motivated me to do a little bit of digging. I got a lot of help from my father's cousins in my work so I thank them for their assistance. I have enjoyed meeting the various people in my research at various courthouses and genealogical societies. The Vance's that I have been researching came out of Menallen Twp, York County, PA migrated to Fayette County, PA and then onto to Guernsey County, OH.
