Henry Brumm was born in Charleston, Wisconsin, on November 25, 1867. At an early age he moved with his parents to a farm in the town of Hutchins, Shawano county. On April 21, 1886, the family removed to this village, where he spent the last forty years of his life. He was united in marriage to Adelaide Hughes, on April 19, 1889. Thirteen children were born to them, five of whom have preceded their father in death. During his entire life he had good health and was physically strong and robust, and it was not until February of this year that he began to complain of failing health. He continued to fall and so was taken to St. Mary's Hospital at Wausau, for a thorough examination, which disclosed and internal cancer. As no medical skill could relieve him of his pain and suffering he was brought back to his home to spend the few remaining weeks of his life under the loving care of his wife and family. He passed away at four o'clock on Friday afternoon, June 25. His wife, one son, two daughters, mother and two sisters were at his bedside when life departed. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Huber at the home Monday afternoon at two o'clock. The pall bearers were Chas. Roepke, Wm. Brubaker, Wm. Beversdorf, Wm. Safford, Joseph Rundhammer and John Wahlers. The flower girls were Flora Hicks, Jeanette Clinton, Selma Riek and Arnelda Gehm. He was laid to rest in Forest Cemetery. He leaves to mourn his death, his wife; two sons, Melvin of this village, Leonard of Ironwood, Mich.; six daughters, Etta, Jessie, Farol, Myrtle, Adelaide and Evelyn; his mother, Mrs. Caroline Brumm; and three sisters, Mrs. Hannah Heidtke of Matton, Mrs. A.
