I just received the Lambert Family of Old Wythe County Virginia 1780-1930. If you are looking for someone in it, please let me know and I'll get you what ever information I have from the book.
The following is some information on my family:
MURASKI/MURAWSKI
Edward came to America in 1883 with his family when he was 6 months old. Father's name was Martin. Not sure when name was changed. I have found Edward's brothers and sisters but still can't get any information on when the family came over.
LAMBERT
Lamberts came from Elliott & Carter counties in Kentucky. From there Wythe Co., VA. John Nicholas Lambert and his wife Mary Schuler and their son Johann Henry Lambert was born in Otterberg, Germany. Johann was a cartwright by trade. He emigrated to the US with his wife and two daughters. He arrive in Philadephia, PA on 9 Sept 1765 on the ship "Chance" on May 7, 1765 to Philadelphia. Family moved to Wythe County, VA between 1778 and 1797. *DAR possiblility*
JONES
The Jones' came from Kentucky particularily Rowan, Elliott, Carter, Morgan counties. Ambrose was born in Virginia.
Ambrose was a Revolutionary War soldier who served with George Washington at Valley Forge. His military records show that in April 1778, he was among those 'sick in camp' at Valley Forge. He had served at the Pennsylvania encampment with Washington during the ill-fated winter of 1777-78. As early as 1809 he and his family had moved to the area of eastern Kentucky that would later become Morgan County. *DAR Eligability*
PRINCE
I'm stuck here too. Sarah Rebecca Prince married John Wesley Jones. She was born in Lawrence Co., KY and died in Langlade Co., WI. She supposedly had Cherokee blood in here. John's family supposedly disowned him for marrying Sarah.
DAUTERMANN
The Dautermann and Weinheimer families settled in the Town of Jackson, Washington county between 1843 and 1845 from Rhinehesse Germany. Philipp Weinheimer and his son-in-law Peter Dautermann donated land for a church building.
