- Via Vano, A Road in Rural Arpino (28 KB)
There is a road in Arpino named 'via Vano'. It is named after our ancestor Luigi Vano or his son Pasquale Francesco Gaetano Vano, born December 17, 1819. Luigi and Pasquale were the owners of a large parcel of land in the Falconara quarter of Arpino. This land was eventually divided up into lots and roads. This road "via Vano" pays homage to our ancestors and their families. There are several descended Vano families living in this area today.

- An Aerial View Of The Town Of Arpino (28 KB)
This is an aerial view of the town of Arpino, located in the Frosinone province of the Lazio region of Italy. Arpino is almost equidistant from Rome and Naples. Family recollection has it that Luigi Vano, the oldest identified ancestor I have found so far, came to Arpino from Atina or Villa Latina, two nearby towns, around 1800.
- The Coat Of Arms For The Town Of Arpino (30 KB)
Pictured on this coat of arms are towers associated with the 'Cyclopean Walls'. Folklore attributed their construction to the Cyclopses, the mythical race of Greek giants. The remaining majority of theses walls and the 'Torre di Cicerone' can be seen at Civitavecchia, the old acropolis of Arpino. These towers and walls protected the citizens from invading forces in the early ages. Also, notice the olive branches. Olive trees dominate the countryside of Arpino and are in abundance.
