I am researching the Vance, Moore, Pate, Dupont, Chandler, Moore, Fulkerson, families of Mclean & Daviess Co., KY. Peter Vance (MY Great-grandfather) was born in Jefferson Co., KY and married Sarah "Sallie" Clore on 10/18/1948 in Oldham CO., KY. Peter's Vance family arrived in America from Ireland in the early 1700’s. Settling in Frederic Co., VA. Moving into Oldham and Jefferson Co., KY between 1790 and 1800. Sarah’s ancestor’s immigrated from Germany to VA in the early 1700’s. Sarah’s family arrived in KY in the early 1800’s. Some time after 1850, Peter and Sallie relocated to Howard Co., IN. There they farmed, they sold out and moved back to Shelby Co.,KY were they showed up on vital statistic’s in 1855. Peter and family moved to Mclean Co., KY sometime in the 1860's were he worked as a wheel-right and wagon maker. |
