George E. Odell was married to an unknown woman before Catherine. She is believed to be the birthmother of Curtis.

One listing of names and dates in George's ledger has George being married July 24, 1892(?). It was then erased.
Anywhere it mentions George's marriage to Catherine, it says September 28, but no year is ever listed.

I recall my grandfather telling me that Curtis was a half-brother, but for years did not know it. When he discovered this, and since his father had died, he turned his back on the family and did not want contact. My grandfather, Lewis, was angered that his brother lived nearby, yet he never saw him. Aunt Lucille confirmed this story, said she remembers family members coming to visit from Pennsylvania and they brought photos of George's first wife, Cutis' mother. It tore the family apart.
