Arent Theunissen Van Hengel and wife Tryntie Reynders immigrated to New Amsterdam in the 1650's and settled in Staten Island. Desendants have taken on the surnames of Reynieren, Reanerson, Van hengelen, Van Henglen, Van Anglen and other such variations.
In 1997, Peter Rinearson of Washington State and Arthur Rynearson of New York State, published a book of the ?Reyniersen and Van Hengelen Family History?. This publication brings the Reyniersen branch to present day while the Van hengel (and variations) branch is dropped in the early 1900's.

Through the combined efforts of Peter Rinearson, Erik Stelle Van Anglen and myself, we wish to bring our branch to the present day. Other family names through marriage include, Stelle, Suydam, Timmons, Anderson, Tilburn, Provost and others. Known Van Anglen members reside in NJ, FL, NC, MO, PA, TX, CA, OK, NH, MA. Family Tree Maker volumes 4 and 9 contain references to this lineage, but are incomplete and contain errors we wish to correct.

In December, 2001, Arthur Rynearson was instrumental in a re-print of the 1997 book, but without Van Anglen updates. An addendum could be produced if sufficient interest is generated.
