- Grave stone of John W. Mouser and Sallie Brown (133 KB)
Otis Mouser's father and mother; Edwards cemetery, Marion County, KY. I now know John W. married again after Sallie's death. Still wondering where Zenas A. Mouser fits into all this (the other brother who died at age 33).
- Maryle Mouser Van Allen, The Amateur Geneaologist (355 KB)
This is the only picture I have (I lie a lot) from my daughter's (Jill) wedding. She now has two children; the oldest is 6, so that might give you an idea of how old this picture is, but it's a good one.
- This is my grandfather, Otis Mouser (1553 KB)
Although my grandfather died before I was born, I'm told he was very prosperous and extremely kind to everyone. His portrait hangs in the H. Meader Coal Museum in Big Stone Gap, Virginia. He married Leila Mae Kemper.
- This is a photo of my very dapper father Otis, Jr. (268 KB)
I especially like the 3 piece suit and the hair style of the early 30s. I always wonder what they would look like with long hair of the 60s.
- Map of Germany (46 KB)
Look for area from which ancestors came Oschingen 20-30 miles south of Stuttgart, near Rottenberg.
- My brother John Mouser at my son's (Jack) wedding. (87 KB)
And to think this very proper person was my worst enenmy as a child. He is a stockbroker with AG Edwards in Media, PA. He has 4 children, 2 boys and 2 girls. His interests are "Sports...any Sports" and he plays tennis at least once a week. He's much healthier than I am. He knows how to pick 'em (stocks I mean).
- A very important person, My mother, Elizabeth (273 KB)
I thought it only proper to add my mother. There would be no family trees without Moms. This photo comes form Redbook Magazine way back in the 20s. Today she is a beautiful, youthful and very sharp 93 year old. She'd rather I put a picture of her dog and her house than herself, but that's too bad.
- This is my youngest, Stephen. (588 KB)
This is a favorite photo of Steve and the way I usually see him. He's our family comedian.
Steve Van Allen (in his words):
Salesman extraordinaire. Enjoys laughing and good times. A joke is always hidden behind even the most serious and or dire of times. Seldom in one place for a long period of time. Enjoys being outdoors and meeting new people. Fortunately his job provides him this means. Professionally serves the U.S. government providing electronic communications, security, and counter terrorism devices. A sweet tooth for fine wine and beautiful women. Lover of all sports particularly the Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies, Flyers and Sixers. Also, very handsome!
- This is Vivion Mouser who died in 1919 during WWI (681 KB)
He died before I was born but has given me a hard time even in spirit. I can not locate his birth date! He died in Germany and his body brought back to Arlington Cemtery. My nephew, John-John resembles him more than anyone and he DOES have the long hair! I heard that Vivian was going to stay in Germany or France after the war. A terrible blow to my grandmom, Leila Mae...too young to die. As of June 14, have found out Vivion (spelling is different than I thought) was born April 20, 1895 in Big Stone Gap, VA See pix of stone taken by my son Steve June 15, 2000.
- This is my oldest son Jack (225 KB)
Looking at airplanes I believe. He has become a very happy man; married with a new baby.
- Grave stone of Vivion Mouser Arlington Cemetery (734 KB)
Seems Vivion was gassed in battle of Trier, Germany in November 1918 and died later in France as a result in January 1919. We always thought his name was Vivian.
- This is Jill, the star of the family. (2301 KB)
Jill with the red hat. I used this as an engagement picture for her and she will never forgive me. Jill makes the sun shine a little bit
brighter. After all, she is a Leo. She works for Vertex Corporation but also loves adoring her family, especially with the birth of her new baby girl, Emily.
- This is Mary Elizabeth (Mimi) my second daughter (178 KB)
Mimi is the angelic beauty of the family; so kind and compassionate to all. Here she is with my granddaughter, Amanda.
- Grave stone of Alexander Brown (see family tree) (1048 KB)
Received from James Minor. Located in Edwards Cemetery in KY
- This is Michael Tadeo, Mimi's son. (431 KB)
My first grandson, Michael, loves sports and I think, very handsome.
