After having a child, I decided to begin documenting our family history for him. I went though information that my Aunt Ruth on my Mother's side (Cottingham/Meffley)and Aunt Grace (Warner)and on my Father's side had provided me. Since their information had been word of mouth and some public library work, I decided that I could add to what they had started through the internet. And what a thrill it has been! I have found lines that I never knew existed, and met cousins who are genealogy buffs like I. They have graciously provided me with their research and support and therefore have given new beginnings for my family tree. Thank you Janet Cottingham Berndt and John Cottingham of Wisconsin, and Debbie Becker of Colorado.

Ooops. Almost forgot my husband, Michael's side. Since he has little interest in this, I have been forced to trace my son's surname without his assistance, but with his support. Michael's Father, A. W. (Dutch) has given me all that an 87 year old can remember, which is actually quite a lot. His leads have provided me with other family members to interview. Thank you Cousin Holly Brace Glasco and Aunt Peggy Fairchild Arnett. Also, Ronnie Vance has provided me with a great deal of information and now lives in the same community we do. We actually met Ronnie through a cousin we found in Wood County, Texas when we were trespassing on the old Vance homestead where my Father-in-Law was born. Although the house is now gone, we found the crepe myrtle tree which was in front of the house and Dutch even pointed out where the old stills were located.

I am currently using Family Tree maker 10.0 and would love to discuss any information about these families with you. I would really like to embellish my information with photographs, physical descriptions, occupations, talents, achievements, and even dirty deeds concerning these individuals' lives, if you know any.

Family names that my be covered on this website are: Warner, Vance, Cottingham, Fairchild, Meffley, Hassell, Darnell, Fisk, Brown, Smith, Alton, Terrell, and any others I may chose to elaborate on later.

Hope you enjoy the website or find it useful.

Please excuse my spelling and typing abilities as this site doesn't seem to have spell check.
