Many of the van Drie's around the world are related, descendants of a family that resided in the Boshuis Drie from the 16th to 18th centuries. We are located primarily in four locations: Amersfoort and Nijkerk, NL; and Michigan and Iowa, USA. The tree you see here is in the midst of some major revisions. After placing my original version on the Internet, it was spotted by Rob van Drie, a distant cousin and a genealogist at the Centraal Bureau voor Genealogie. He also has been collecting much information on the van Drie family tree, and we are reconciling our different versions. You may visit the Boshuis Drie in the Speuldebos in the tiny town of Drie, near Ermelo, Putten, and Garderen, in the province of Gelderland. Originally, the Boshuis was a Roman Catholic chapel (a 'heilige huiskjen'), which was converted into a Boshuis (a house where foresters met) during the Reformation, and was built into the larger house which you see today in 1765. It was turned over to the state in the 19th c., and is now leased out as a restaurant. Foresters met in the Boshuis, and kept minutes of their meetings since the 16th c. in the "Maelenboek", a copy of which is in the Rijksarchief in Arnhem. See more about the history of Drie on my family home page 'The Van Drie's of Kalamazoo'.
