Records of the Newport Historical Society show that John Vahan was admitted as an inhabitant of the town Oct 1 1638. Also the records show that in 1655" The Roule of Freeman of ye Colonie of everie Towne, John Vahan". "Records of Births of Frindes Children in Rhode Island and other Places" show the birth records of John and Gillian's children.
They can be found in Vault A, Book No. 822.
