Larry served in the Kansas National Guard. He was a welder at the Certain-Teed Corporation in Kansas City, KS. He died from injuries received at the plant. He is buried in the Chapel Hill Cemetery on US 40 highway west of Kansas City, KS
He was an avid hunter. The wrestling program at Olathe was one of Larry's great joys. He always helped and encouraged his sons to become the excellent wrestlers while they were in school.
