In the Graves County NewspaperGenealogical Abstracts, Vol 17 by Don Simmons I found the following. Fri, 9-06-1907. An old landmark in city (Mayfield) for the first timein five years, Mr. John H. Chandler of near Wingo was in the city Thurs with his son John. This was his first visit to the city for fiveyears. He is one of the old landmarks of the county. He was born Dec. 1825 in Halifax County, VA. and came to Kentucky in 1849 and has been acitizen ever since. He married a Miss Lucinda Wingo, a dau. of Mr.Jerman Wingo in whose honor the city of Wingo was named, and threechildren are now living as a result of this union, Mrs. Sam Grace andbuck and John, all of whom are doing well. Mr. chandler is past 82years old and his wife is 75 and both are in the best of health and bidfare to live several years yet. He is Baptist in religion and democratin politics. He is a staunch friend of Major Hale, but the friends of his younger generation are about all gone.
