Samuel met Catherine Ryan in Brooklyn and they were married there in 1893.Catherine's parents were Mathew and Margaret (Marnell)Ryan in Callan, Co. Kilkenney. John and Mary (Hughes) Blake had: Samuel (1862), Patt 1864), Francis (1866), Henry (1868), Margaret (1871), Susannah (1872), Edward (1874), Michael (1876),and Maria (1879).I believe Michael, and Maria also moved to New York. Mathew and Margaret (Marnell) Ryan had:Johana (1865), Catherine (1867), James (1870), Mary (1872), Margaret (1875). Margaret (Mae)returned to New York in 1923 and in 1926 married Patrick Downey from Callan, Co. Kilkenney, Ireland there. My other great grandfather is Patrick Francis Quilty.Patrick married my great grandmother, Mary McCarthy (born in 1860 in Ireland) in the late 1880's.They had their children, Francis and Margaret Mary, in Denver, Colorado in the 1880s-1890s. The marriage broke up and Patrick left.He did see his family again in the early 1940s.He was Irish and was said to have come from Chicago, Illinois. I would be happy to have any one write who is connected or knows about these families.
