One night Walter S. Gillespie and Katherine were coming back from Middlesboro Ky (4 - 5 miles out of the Cumberland gap) when the lights on the car went out. Walter had a wad of Wrigleys chewing gum which were wrapped in foil, and he used the foil as a conductor and rolled it up and used it as a short circuit to make the lights work.
