Welcome to the Vedros Family Home Page on the Family Tree Maker Site. My role is currently that of the online reporter of our family's history, while I begin to delve into genealogy research. The information on this site has been compiled over the years by several members of our family, who are still actively researching our history. My father's family hails from Gramercy, Louisiana and our ancestory has been traced back through Convent Louisiana to Nova Scotia then to France.The research so far has led back to a single ancestor, Pierre Laverdure, of France, born around 1600 - 1610. Interestingly, I am the 8th- and 10th-great grandson of Monsieur Laverdure. How, you ask?? We have traced a link between my mother and father leading back to Pierre Laverdure. Also interesting, we have found a link between my wife and me, leading back to a different common ancestor, Jean Baptiste Curol, born around 1749 in France.
