| My family came to the U.S. from Puerto Rico in the 1920's settling in New York City. They were from Aguadilla, Mayaguez, Yauco and Yasseyasso. Family surnames include: Vega, Soto, Ortiz, Ocasio, Sambolin, Bonilla, Velez, Conzalez (Gonzalez?), and Melendez. I am especially interested in information about my grandfather: Ramon Soto, born in 1906 in Yasseyasso, PR. He was the son of Gregorio Soto and Massima Melendez, and had a brother named Mariano. He was married to Magdalena Ortiz Olaya in NYC in January of 1927. This is the extent of my knowledge about him. |
