Joesph was the son of Johnathon Shaneyfelt. Joe was born Aug. 15, 1874 and died in 1953.Joe was badly hurt in the mines, when he was a young man. He never got over it, but he loved the lord. He was a very hard headed person. What he said was law.My older cousin Hoyt Shaneyfelt met and old man. They talked for a good while. This man had been Joesph's best friend. Joesph was dead at the time. The man told Hoyt that Joesph had kept a secret, that he had never told his family. That they were German Jew. He never told his family. He feared how people would treat them, if people new.
