| I am researching both sides of my family. My father, Richard Dunn Owens married my mother, Margaret Edna Baldridge in 1939 in Dunn Co, WI and moved to Seattle, WA. Names in their families are: Owens (from poss MA, England), Dunn (WI, Scotland), Whiteford (WI, Ireland), Crist(WI, IN, VA, PA), Baldridge (WI, IN), Bortel (WI and NY), Kurth (WI,Germany), Schnurstein (WI, Germany) John Donald Owens was said to have been born in Biddeford or Portland Maine in 1887, moved to Evanston Illinois with his family which included a brother, Walter, and two sisters, Dorothy and Evelyn. He eventually moved to Dunn Co, WI where he married Mabel Evelyn Dunn. He told stories of his childhood, but his wife and children never met any of his relatives. His accent was definitely northeastern. He visited his family in IL in the early '20's. Census data does not show his family in either place and before the record of their marriage and his name on WI census in 1920, I have run out of documentation resources. John Baldridge, b 1797, married Margaret Fox, in Wayne Co, IN, 3/15/1821. I need to know if he was son of Thomas Baldridge and brother to Samuel Baldridge in order to connect him to the Baldridge lineage back to William Baldrige of Ulster, Ireland. |
