Find Family
This is the home page of the Donald and Josephine (Miller) Velding Family, their children, and those who came before. It is a work in progress. Any information you may add would be greatly appreciated. Feel free to contact me at the e-mail address shown.

Main branches currently known being researched are as follows:

John R. Lyons b. 1843,and Bridget Cahill b. 1857, in Canada. Daughter Katherine A. Lyons married Ebbie Lewis (son of Nathan Byron Lewis b. 1844 in Ohio and Luella A. Hills b. 1852 in Ohio).

Evan E. Miller b.1866 Ft. Howard, WI., maried Bertha C. Loock b. 1877 in Lohne (Lowany?) Germany. Son Bryan E. Miller married Anna F. Zentner b. 1899 in Blumenfeld, Russia (daughter of Frank Zentner b. 1863 in Katharinental, Russia and Brigetta Landeis b. 1868 in Russia).

Unknown Velden married Maria Luesincamp b. 1834 in Holland, Netherlands. Son Jacob Velden (Velding)b. 1865 in Holland, married Henrietta Paul b. 1868 (daughter of Henry VanderPaul b. 1845 in Holland, Netherlands and Annetta Baak b. 1845 in Holland).

I began researching this information in late 1999. The research has taken me in many directions. From the German settlements in Russia, to Germany, Ireland, England, and the Netherlands across the ocean. Then to Canada, Wisconsin, Ohio, North Dakota, and Michigan in the US. It has demonstrated who and how we are, why we are, and where we came from. The people who lived, worked, struggled, celebrated, and died so that we could be.

It is a work that I will continue to follow to see where it may lead me.
