VELASCO, CERRA and other families & surnames of Puerto Rico
The content of this webpage will take the visitor into a journey in time following the path laid by my ancestors and those of my relatives.Some "trails" are longer that others, some running only 4 generations while others run 8 or more.Yet along them you will crisscross the Island in every direction: north, south, east, west, and center. The lineages presented in this webpage include those of the VELASCO, CERRA, SURO, and NAZARIO.Also included are other surnames that I have traced in my genealogical research, like ALMENAS, BIRD, and VIRUET.All of these are presented mainly in GEDCOM Trees and in related HTML files.Yet these and many more totally unrelated surnames can be found in the regional databases.These "by-products" of my research are compilations of information that I've extracted from various sources, mainly the US Federal Census (1910, 1920, and 1930), the LDS International Genealogical Index, church records on microfilm from Yauco's Parroquia Nstra. Sra. del Stmo. Rosario, and civil records from Añasco, Orocovis (formerly Barros) and Sabana Grande.
