Sion Wheless born in N.C. (Sept. 11, 1791- Mar. 3, 1858) was the son of Hardy and Lydia (Drake) Wheless of Jones Co., GA. and he was in the war of 1812. Sion married three times. His first wife is believed to have been Elizabeth Sturdivant and they had Sion Whitfield (1829 - 1914), L.A. (f), A.J. (m). Whitfield became a shoe & boot maker and married Catherine Cathey Pinkny in Warren, Ark. Sion then married Lucy Vaughn and they had Howell and several girls. Sion's third wife was Nancy Odom and they had Jacob Nathanial (Dec. 8, 1848 - July 12, 1929)and Jasper Potts Wheless (Aug 7, 1947 - Apr 1924). Jasper married Cordelia Miller and they had 14 children and settled in Texas. Jacob married Elizabeth McIntyre and had 5 kids, they settled in Louisiana. We are descendant from Jasper. We would be interested in hearing from any Wheless member to see where there may be a connection. Please contact me if you would like to share information.
