July 14, 1765 - Marriage record of Ruth Munson to Benjamin Van Cleave - Rowan Co., North Carolina - double wedding with Jane Van Cleave, sister of Benjamin, to Squire Boone, Jr., brother of Daniel Boone.
Since daughter Ruth Munson was married in Rowan Co., North Carolina, in 1765, her father, Samuel must have been living in the area at that time.

October 1782: Bk 9:175 Benjamin (B) Van Cleave to John Dick for 200 pounds hard money, 200 acres of tract granted Squire Boone on Bear Creek. Matt: Troy, James Hendrick. Ruth (X) Van Cleave makes her mark.

Sept. 15,1783: Bk 10:242 Daniel Mosby and wf Elizabeth to John Brunts for 100 pounds, 240 acres on SE fork of Sugar Tree Creek adjacent Peter Eaton, Shadrich Williams, Elisaph Munsons claim, Jeremiah Clark, Henry Richards, Andrew Hunt, Wilson Hunt. Proved May Court 1785.

Nov. 3, 1778: Rowas Co., North Carolina Court Minutes - pg 74 - Inferior Court. "Ordered by the Court, That Letters of Administration on the personal Estate of Elisaph Monson, issue to Sarah Monson Widow & Relict of said Elisaph, dec'd, who qualified according to Law & gave Bond with Benj Van Cleave Security in the sum of 600 pounds." Sarah married 2nd to Moses Adams in North Carolina and went to Scott Co., Kentucky with her family.
