I have been working on my family tree for about eight years now, and have a lot of people to thank for the help that they have given to me. There are too many to be mentioned individually, but thank you all. Special thanks to Don Roth, Vicky Carlisle, Derek Pearman and June for information on my Pearmans. To Heather and Joan for sending details and info. re my Suddens branch. Thanks to Joan from Dorchester, for all the stuff she sent to me about my Deaths (pronounced Deeth)and Howletts. It was through her that I 'found' my 'Little Gran', Laura Howlett. Also to Shirley for the huge amount of information she sent to me regarding Bob's Saunders side of the family. There are a number of names that are of interest to me.These names are:- Vernon, Batchelor, Death,(pronounced and sometimes spelt, Deeth), Pearman, Fletcher, particularly Luckuck-Fletcher,Suddens,Clarke,Yates,Scandlon, Farren,Wilson Mason,Arnold, Saunders and Bishop.I would of course be very grateful to have any information that is of use to me. Many of these people have Coventry connections back to the 16th century. I have found the I.G.I. a very useful tool in my search, especially for my Pearmans and since aquiring a C.D.ROM.(the 1851 census on an L.D.S. C.D.ROM) have been able to verify facts, and find more of my Pearmans, My line came from John who was born in Alvechurch,Worcester in 1514. Henry V111 had not long taken over the throne, as his father died in 1509. Sometime during the next couple of generations, they moved to Clent in Staffordshire. Clent is now in Worcestershire as the boundaries have moved over the years. I had a lot of help from a kind lady who lives in Australia and came over here to research her family in September 2000. We discovered a common ancestor! Samuel Pearman of Mercote Hall. It was through her advice that I have been able to get as far as I have done. Other descendants of the Pearmans have been in touch with me recently and have also been very helpful. Thank you June for the information that you sent to me about Great Grandad Arthur's brother, James and his descendants. Also to Don for telling me the fascinating story of Ambrose Baker Pearman who emigrated to America with Sarah Sprague, and started another branch over there. Many thanks to you all! I now have proof that William's father's name was Samuel,as they were tennant farmers of Mercote Hall in Berkswell in the 18th and 19th century, from a book that I acquired from the Berkswell museum, 'Berkswell Miscellanies Vol.Vl.' The Butlers, who I thought were my direct descendants, were in fact not, although I know that they are connected to my ancestors through Samuel's (born1690) brother. My eldest son, John, was kind enough to send me a CD Rom of the Fletcher Family History with some beautiful old photographs, some of which I have included here, but there are more on my Web-shots site (see link below). Last week (April 7th 2008), I received a beautiful hand drawn Family Tree of my early Pearmans, drawn up by Nick Wood, who is a descendand of Jane Pearman and John Chattaway. Married 1754 in Berkswell. It's a work of art to be treasured in future generations. He also sent me the records that he had researched. I include them on this page in "Related Files".
