Notes for Guyon Gibson:
Emigrated to America from Ireland in 1766. Served in the Revolutionary War in South Carolina under Captain Thompson. He lost his rifle in the battle at Brier Creek, and two friends gave affidavit later on May 10, 1782, that it was worth 25pounds Old Currency. His National Pension Claim Number is R470 and his South Carolina Audited Accounts and Stub Indent Number is AA 2788. He died of Yellow Fever. After his death, his widow and children went on to Tennessee and Missouri. Four of his sons enlisted in the War of 1812 and were prominent in the settlement of Warren County, Missouri, with Major Thomas Kennedy.

It is said that this family originated in Sweden and this branch emigrated to Ireland.

She came to, Warren County, Missouri, in the second wave of people led by her son, Guyon Jr., they arrived at Kennedy's Fort on December 26, 1811.

      48. George Whitley, born Abt. 1735. He was the son of 96. George Benjamin Whitley and 97. Sarah Warren.

Notes for George Whitley:
George Whitley lived on Big Bear Creek, in what is now Stanly County, North Carolina.
He was married twice and reared a large family. He and two or three of his sons were soldiers
in the American Revolution.
Of the four sons listed it is believe that the first two were by his first wife and the second two by his second wife.
After his death his second wife, believed to be, Martha Castles married Henry Manuel.

Ancestors listed prior to George were taken from the book, " Whitley Families Of North Carolina 1356 - 1983" I cannot personally attest to their accuracy.

  Notes for George Whitley II:
George Whitley II married twice and had a large family by each marriage. He was a Baptist minister and was a pastor in the Bear Creek Association of Primitive Baptist. He seems to have been pastor of Meadow Creek Baptist Church in Stanly County, North Carolina
The Jacob Whitley papers mention a daughter that was bitten by a dog and died of Rabies and a son, George Whitley, Jr. ( III). Other records relate that a daughter, Fannie Robins, died June 23, 1858.

      54. Edward "Judge" Brumbelow38, born September 13, 1747 in Richmond County, Virginia; died Aft. 1800 in Probably in Georgia. He was the son of 108. Edward Isaac Brumlow and 109. Mary. He married 55. Elizabeth Abt. 1768 in Virginia.

At some point prior to 1790, Edward moved from Chatham Co., North Carolina to Anson County, North Carolina. When the Indian lands opened up in Georgia he moved there. I assume that is where he died.

According to his granddaughter, Susannah Morton Whitley, Edward was suppose to be about 1/2 Cherokee Indian, and he was called "Judge".

Edward Brumbelow was my grandfather he lived in North Carolina Chatham Co. he moved from there to Anson Co there his daughter Betsy married Ezekiel Morton my Father his sister Betsy married John Hi_ _ na _ (may read Hivonaz, Illegible) they had two sons one named Isaac and one Jessie and one James that I remember my grandfather was known by the name Judge Brumbelow and he went to the purchase of Georgia when the Indians inhabited that Country he was said to be about half Indian, Susannah Whitley
