Married in 1859, Mary Jane "Marriam" Morris, born 1844 to ?????, in Tenn. They resided in several places in TN, ARK, MO Indian Ter. and then Loon Lake Stevens CO, Wash, where Mary died in 1909, just shy of thier 59th wedding anniversary. It is unk where she is buried. Alex then returned to Carrol CO, ARK, where died in 1924 & id buried in the Hale Cem., Oak Grove, Carroll Co, ARK,
Any help on the ribbons he wears in the phot would be greatly appreciated. I believe they are from is CW service.

Albert & Dellah were long time residents of Reeds Springs, Stone Co, MO and had moved to Butte Co, Calif. only a few years earlier to be near their only child, Viola Nickerson Crabtree and their 8 grandchildren whom had moved to Calif. during the dust bowl era of 1935.

Oscar Harris is the son of Alexander Coleman Harris & Mary Jane (Miriam) Morris. Oscar was born in Oregon CO, MO, in Feb. 1887 removed with his family to Stevens CO, Washington prior to returning to MO. He died in March 1943 in Carroll CO, ARK. It is unknown the maiden name of his wife Mint, nor her birth or death dates. They had one child, Lola, born about 1915. Any information on this family would be greatly appreciated. (Oscar was my maternal great uncle and the only surviving Male in this Harris Family.)

On 9/18/1918 he registared for WWI & gave year of birth 7 years younger than he was...pos. he wanted to enlist & feared he would be considered too old at 46 (gave age as 38y11m).
Grant m."Mammie" Hollingsworth before 1918. At least one child, Ethel was born in Minn. bef. Grant returned to OKLA & them to Jackson CO to run a Barber shop.

- Robert Vicars Session (Trial Summary) Papers -1767 (7 KB)
Robert Vicars & Family were residence of Botetourt, Fincastle, Washington, & Russell Counties, but always lived in the same "general' area of SW Virginia from 1771 on.
In these early years many people to bannish and transported from the OLD world to the NEW world for little of no offense. Robert is believed to have been one such individual.
Robert, at the age of 19 yrs., even after several indivudals testified for his good character, was sentenced to "T", for Transportation, for having solder in his possession after work. He claims he was going to make another repair at the "Lord-Mayor's" and return the solder to his work place. Instead he was sentenced to transportation from London to the New World in 1767.

This Memoriam was provided to me in Feb. 2001 from a direct descendent of Robert P. Vicars & Unity Dorton. My copy is a photo copy of clearly an old document. It was described that the original was on parchment paper and a beautiful document. At the top is a photo of Robert. The words "In Memoriam" are in an arched shape above the photo. I have transcribed it exactly as written. Robert P. Vicars is the brother of my direct line, Jacob Vicars, both the children of John Vicars and Marinda Alvis. Grandchildren of Forest Alvis & Robert "Robin" Vicars and Lydia Jackson.
