LAWRENCE surname DNA project
This is really cool, and is helping to verify the paper trail of research into descendants of Edward Larrance of Northumberland and Fauquier Cos. Virginia. Check it out:

RESEARCH UPDATE
I spent most of '05-'06 researching full time (40+ hrs/wk) on LAWRENCE/LARRANCE descendants. I scaled back my hours in '07-'08 while still doing a lot of research. (Ancestry.com has been a tremendous resource!)
As of Nov. 2008, I completed a person by person review of everyone in my files. I am still doing some research, but am trying to scale back. Family, church, and citizen responsibilties have begun to necessitate more of my time. Also, I need to educate myself on how would be the best way to compile all my information into a book/cd to publish. I have never attempted anything on this scale, and I have almost 80,000 people in my database, with lots of notes and photos, so it will be a challenge to put it all together in a manageable format. IF YOU ARE WILLING TO SHARE UPDATES FOR YOUR FAMILY, YOUR HELP IS APPRECIATED!

In Memoriam
My only sibling, my sister Linda, succumbed to breast cancer 21 Sept. 2001 in Texas. I will miss her all the days of my life.

Larrance/Lawrence
EDWARD (c1690-1700 - 1786) & SARAH LARRANCE (LAWRENCE)of Northumberland Co. Virginia, and later Prince William & Fauquier counties, Virginia, had 4 sons: John, Edward, Richard & Peter.
I am researching descendants of these 4 sons, trying to bring as many lines as possible down to the present. (I've also done a little work on Edw. & Sarah's 4 daughters.) I posted some 6-7 generations of the family in a Worldconnect file at Rootsweb. I haven't updated the Worldconnect file in several years since I've been so busy researching, but here's the link:
http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=larrance&id=I0001
If you think you connect to my Lawrence/Larrance family, please write me!

&&&&&&&&&&&&&
Other surnames on my paternal (grandfather's) side, besides LAWRENCE and LARRANCE, are: YOW, RICHARDSON, MACON, CAPEL, COVINGTON, NEEDHAM, BALDWIN, BOWDOIN (BOWDOWN)- all from Randolph, Moore and Richmond Cos. NC. I have some information on all of them,in varying amounts. I am not, however, doing research on these lines right now.
My paternal grandmother's lineage includes these surnames: WHATLEY, HOLLOWAY, HUNTER, BULLOCK, SINQUEFIELD, EDRINGTON, MAY, DEAN, LOVELESS, LOWREY, KIRKLAND, STILL. My grandmother's parents were from Edgefield County, SC, but many of her ancestors went to SC from NC.

On my maternal side, all my mother's family comes from Tyrrell Co. NC, where they have lived for some 300 years. Surnames on this side include: SWAIN, DAVENPORT, LIVERMAN, ETHERIDGE, GODWIN, COHOON, BRICKHOUSE, RHODES, BATEMAN, HATFIELD, SPRUILL, GILES.

No one in NC had a picture, but in 1983 when I was tracking down Jesse's son, Wm., who moved to Union Co. Georgia, I visited the courthouse there and got data on Wm's family.
