- Viebahn memorials at I.O.O.F. cemeteryBrisbin, PA (54 KB)
The large stone which looks incompletely chiseled at the top probably has some significance among tombstones makers- like an unfinished life cut short- Mrs. Margaret Viebahn, nee. Lewis, was only in her 40s when she died.
- Margaret's stone is next to Julius in PA (63 KB)
For some reason Julius' name is not actually inscribed on either memorial, nor is there a separate stone for him. Julius Viebahn, residing near Houtzdale, whose death was noted in our columns, was a native of Germany, aged 68 years and two months. He served his country through two wars- the Austro-German war of 1866 and the Franco-Prussian war of 1870-1871. Three sons and two daughters survive." Ref. http://home.earthlink.net/~momkramp
