My own family is a family of hard-working immigrants, homesteading and settling in the north in places where no white men had gone before. My husband's ancestors were from the south, and their history includes stories from the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, and the Lewis and Clark expedition. I am only the "keeper of the tree" who gathers and shares information. Please email me with any questions, additions, or corrections. I have lots of information of smaller branches of the tree which are not included here.

Look at those dimples! Dimples are a family trait. There is also a musical gene...does anyone have it? To my knowledge, the musical gene hit Olaf Quaal, Arnold Quaal, Christine Quaal, and Alec Elton. Anyone else? - Christine Anne Nelson Quaal(1873-1966) (223 KB)
Christine and Andrew were among the first settlers in Forbes, Minnesota. I love this photo of Christine, with the prairie winds blowing her skirt. My father loved the farm and woods, and named me for his beloved grandmother. - Amanda and Clara Quaal June 3, 1906 (798 KB)
This was their confirmation picture. Again, look at the dimples, a family trait. - C. L. Vinson (123 KB)

I believe this photo was taken at the wedding of Benjamin and Kari Louina Nelson Mogaard in 1901. They are in front. The female standing on the left is Olga Emily Nelson Willcoxin. The woman on the right is Christine Anne Nelson Quaal. The man standing on the left is believed to be Harry Earl Willcoxin. The man standing on the right is believed to be Alfred Nelson - Cathy Jo Anderson Paulson (1956-2003) (715 KB)
Cathy was the family geneaolgist. She researched & shared the family tree, was a member of genealogy societies, and was a staunch protector of family heirlooms and pictures when the original Quaal homestead went on the auction block. I communicated with her over the internet countless times, and had the privilage to meet her once, at a family reunion that we planned together. We were relatives, but became friends. We were supposed to start a web site with family stories, pictures, and recipes. We were supposed to visit Norway together. We didn't know we would run out of time. Rest in peace, Cathy. You were the computer expert and genealogist, but I will stumble along in your honor. - Mystery Quaal/Quall family Silverton, Oregon (230 KB)
Looking for information on Andrew Quall of Silverton, OR. AKA Anders Christofersen. Had a daughter Myrtle and a father Christofer. He was the nephew of Peder Quaal. Note the spelling difference. These photos were sent to me from the Quaal homestead in Boyd.
