      1. David J.1 Bass was born Abt. 1808 in North Carolina, and died July 25, 1887 in Barton County, Missouri. He married Mary Elizabeth Brown WFT Est. 1845-1878.

Notes for David J. Bass:
The Last Will and Testament of David Bass reads as follows:

Know all men by these presents that I, David Bass, of the County of Barton in the State of Missouri in view of the uncertainty of life and being of sound mind and memory do make and publish this my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all former Wills by me made at any time.

1st: I desire all my just debts paid as soon after my death as can conveniently be done.

2nd: That my beloved Wife, Mary Ann Bass, have during her natural life of Widowhood, all my household property , together with two Bay Horses, 2 Cows and 1 Wagon and gearing, also 80 Acres of land known as the North half of the North East quarter of Section 21 in Township 33 of Range 29. The same being the land that my dwelling house is now on, the above property to be sold at the Death of my said Wife and equally divided between my children that is named in this my last Will.

3rd: My other property consisting of the SE 1/4 of the SW 1/4 of Section 15 in Township 33 of Range 29 in Barton County Mo, also 2 Lots in the Town of Eldorado in Cedar County Mo., together with all personal property not reserved or bequeathed to my Said Wife. I desire the same sold by my Executor and equally divided among my beloved Children named as follows:

      Daniel Bass, and the heirs of my Daughter Elizabeth Butler, Henry
      Bass, George W. Bass, and the heir of my Daughter, Isabella Holman,     
      David Bass, Jun., Thomas J. Bass, Marion F. Bass, and William F.
      Bass.

I desire that all property not bequeathed to my said Wife to be sold and divided between by Children named above as soon as is convenient after my death.

4th: I hereby appoint J. S. Howell of the County of Barton in the State of Missouri Executor of this my last Will and Testament.

On September 8, 1887, L. B. Prouty, Thomas Harman, and M. L. Ward filed the following appraisal of the estate:

      Lot 11 in Block 4 of Jackson's First Addition to the town of Eldorado, in       Cedar County, Missouri, at the price and sum of Four Hundred and       Thirty Five Dollars.

      Lot 12 in Block 4 of Jackson's First Addition to the town of Eldorado, in       Cedar County, Missouri, at the price and sum of Two Hundred and       Seventy Five Dollars.
     
      One span bay horses, 7 and 8 years old at $150.00
      One white cow, 4 years old at $14.00
      One white cow, 10 years old with calf at $18.00
      One black and white spotted cow and calf 7 years old at $18.00
      One small red cow 10 years old at $10.00
      One white cow, right horn broke down & calf at $16.00
      One black sow valued at $5.00
      Two black shoats at $6.00
      One f?? horse (rest blurred) at $10.00
      One set leather harness at $2.00
      One hide of leather at $1.00
      One saw (Crops cut) at $1.50
      One Hay Knife at $1.25, two pitchforks at $.25 each totalling $1.50
      One jack plain at $.30 and one corn knife at $.25 totalling $.55
      Three Ar?g?n at $1.00 and one saddle at $2.00 totalling $3.00
      One Heander Saw Square one Drawing knife at $1.00
      One Wheat Fan at $7.00 and One Bee Hive at $3.00 totalling $10.00
      One large kettle (20 gallons) at $2.00
      One Rifle Gun at $2.50

      The total appraised value of this merchandise was $272.55
