| I am researching the following surnames, QUARTERMAINE, FEARON, STOUT, KENYON, HITCHCOCK, CARTER,. My goal is to trace each of my ancestors on my maternal side, the STOUTS and KENYONS, back to the point where the first ancestor arrived in the USA. On my paternal side, the QUARTERMAINES and FEARONS, my goal is to trace my ancesters back to their home country. I have traced the STOUT family back to JOHANN PETER STAUT, who arrived in Philadelphia in 1737. On the KENYON side I am only able to go back to CHRISTOPHER KENYON, who was born about 1833 in Onondaga County, NY. He married a Fidelia Hitchcock and they moved to Ionia County, Michigan in the 1870's. My grandfather, FRED QUARTERMAINE, who was born in 1883 in Kingston Blount, Oxfordshire Co., England, arrived in Battle Creek, Michigan in 1906. He married MARY JANE FEARON, who was from Cleater-Moore, Cumbria Co., England. Any information or connections to these surnames would be appreciated. I would also be interested in hearing from anyone who is searching any one of these lines just to compare notes and to share information. |
