ROSEMARY VOLPP IS NOW MRS. RONALD GARCIA. September 6, 1969.
The Memorial Chapel of Whittier College provided the setting for the beautiful formal wedding of Rosemary Lynn Volpp to Ronald Mark Garcia. The lovely bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul E. Volpp of Lynwood; the groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Genaro Garcia, also of Lynwood.
The double ring ceremony was performed by Rev. Bruce Kurrie of the Costs Mesa Church of the Covenant.
The "Juliette" wedding robes keynoted the picturesque beauty of the bride. Carrying out the "Juliette" theme, the dress was floor length with an Empire waist and bouffant "Juliette" sleeves of silk organza. The bodice was trimmed with imported hand scrolled lace. Her shoulder lenghth veil fell from a matching lace cap which was also fashioned in the "Romeo and Juliette" theme. Sweet simplicity highlighted her bouquet of roses and baby's breath and daises designed by the groom's grandmother, Mrs. Nelly Garcia, formerly the owner of the Imperial Florist of Lynwood. The radiant bride was given in marriage by her father.
Mrs. Dan Arnold as matron of honor was an "eye catcher" as were the bridesmaids; Mrs. Tom Boylan, Miss Janelle Langum, Miss Pamela Smith. They wore cameo pink gowns carrying out the "Juliett" theme. They carried old fashioned nosegay bouquets.
Guest attendant was Miss Cindy Zurborg; The gift attendant was Miss Lucille Garcia. Cathy Garcia passed out the rice bags.
Rhonda Miller, accompanied by Dr. J. Ochse, organist, sang "Whither Thou Goest" and "The Wedding Prayer".
Dan Arnold was best man and more than 250 guests were ushered to seats by Bob Murphy, Gary Garcia and Paul Andrew Volpp. The reception was held in Arnold Hall adjoining the Chapel.
Mrs. Volpp was attired in a seafoam green Alaskine dress with pink accessories. Mrs. Garcia chose vivid pink with matching accessories. Both chose pink rosebud corsages. They stood with their children at the reception befor Ronald took his bride to honeymoon in Yosemite. They will make their home in Pomona. Rosemary in affiliated with the Palmer Society and is a Junior at Whittier College. Her husband is a Senior at Harvey Mudd.
